Abstract

The development of society in modern conditions actualizes the problems of the relationship between the state of the environment and the quality of life. Currently, it is alarming that the process of modernization of science and technology leads to environmental degradation, which affects the quality of life of the population. In these conditions, it becomes relevant to study the process of interaction between the quality of life and modern environmental problems as its determinants. Such exchange relations between natural and human systems establish a continuous interaction that often leads to changes in both systems. The article analyzes the problems of monitoring the state of the environment in the regions of the Russian Federation, determines the state of the ecological niche in the country, and also examines a little–studied phenomenon of modernity – the influence of the environment on the quality of life of the population and the sustainable development of the country as a whole.
