Abstract

The article considers the history of the emergence and development of ecological knowledge, which formed a modern approach to environmental quality management. It briefly outlines the main methods and principles of environmental quality management. The analysis of the shortcomings of the current approach is carried out and the vector of further researches of the author on this issue is indicated.
