Abstract

In the era of the third industrial revolution, knowledge, along with labor, capital and natural resources, acts as one of the main factors in the development of modern production. Knowledge as a specific type of resources has certain properties, a review of which is given in the article. The main characteristic features of knowledge as a new economic resource is globalism, inexhaustibility, non-materiality, variability, versatility, performance, invariance to the methods of use. These features provide the basis for the intellectual economy.
